McJon Extrication Blanket Usages
Extrication: The McJon Extrication blanket was designed first and foremost to provide protection to victims during the extrication process. The Kevlar®/Nomex® construction provides victims protection against sharp edges, broken glass, saw sparks, and temperature up to 900 degrees F. It’s large size, 5’x6’, amply covers and protects the victim.
Structural Collapse: The McJon Extrication Blanket can also be used for structural collapse. The Kevlar®/Nomex® construction protects rescuers and patients moving over rough surfaces such as broken concrete, jagged edges, steel and glass.
Victim Transport: The McJon Extrication Blanket can be used for victim transport in the event a ridged platform is not available or too cumbersome for a given application. The design allows the blanket to be stored and transported easier than a backboard or stokes basket, especially when space is a consideration. The blanket also offers patient protection as mentioned above.
F.A.S.T/R.I.T Operations: The McJon Extrication Blanket allows you to protect your fellow firefighters against cuts and temperature during evacuation.
Exposure: The McJon Extrication Blanket can be used for patient protection from extreme temperatures.
E.M.S Platform: The McJon extrication blanket can be used for patient treatment by offering a clean platform in the event of immediate patient care is needed or resources are not available.
